gorgeous! too bad we bombed the heck out of it. looks like they've recovered fairly well though.
were all of the buildings behind you rebuilt after the war?if so - hard to believe. reminds me of gdansk - so much destruction and replacing! we in America have no concept! mom
What a beautiful place. Looks like they have recovered lots of buildings. I remember the bombings told about on the newreels in the theaters when I was 11 years old. Are you ever coming home???

yes all those buildings have been rebuilt. crazy, huh? the old town is stunning - it's mostly as it was pre-bombing, and is amazing to see such beautiful persistence beyond unimaginable destruction...
