yes it is an unbelievably frustrating event. i feel utterly violated, and the night itself was horrid as i frantically tried to find a way to tell the police the license plate number (which i hadn't memorized) - the 911 dispatcher wouldn't take the report until i had it. very difficult to be done when mom and dad are in tahiti and i have hardly anyone's number memorized, aside from lincoln's - who spent over an hour with me in my search, and gave me general calming support. thanks guggle :) the saving grace came from the combined efforts of dear friends xarissa and natalie, the former of whom was randomly with me at work that night, stood with me through the whole thing, and had natalie's number in her phone, whom i called to search my room for the license plate number, which she miraculously found, and then drove up (in her pajamas, because i had woken her up - it was about 3am at this point) to dupont circle to take me and xarissa home. so thanks to these 3, i survived the night :)
and thanks to my roommate's family, i have this awesome hunk of american glory to drive around for the next few days:
AWESOME. i admit the humor of me driving around in this is not lost on me, despite all the current frustration and stress :)

jooj! i've been trying to reach you all day, through your patient friend, natalie. i can't believe this happened!! steph and i were sad for you together, i wonder if they'll find the car?!
call me when you can. or chat. whatev.
that hunk of american glory is totally hot. you're SO texas now. :)
Ooooh major bummer.
But I do have to agree with Leslie, that truck is hot.
oh jooj. that totally stinks. what good friends you have, though. i've been thinking about you all day. love the truck!
This sucks terribly. I don't know if I'll mention it to my folks though. "It's in such a nice neighborhood. No need to worry about me!"
Joojie, that is awful, so frustrating. You have wonderful friends and are very blessed. Thank goodness they came through.
Love and hugs

oh julianne, this is such a sad and grossly horrible story, and i'm so sorry to hear it.
but at least your hair looks so lovely.
completely unacceptable! stolen from right off the street! but i hope you take some pictures of you in that beautiful red beast of a vehicle.
Joojie! Ali texted me Sunday morning about your stolen car. I'm so, so sorry. Look on the bright side, you get to drive a rad red truck, and I say that in all seriousness. I was just telling my dad that i wanted a truck. I know you're going to laugh and think, "How very Texan of her." But it's true - Trucks are the king cars on the road. You don't mess with trucks just like you don't mess with Texas.
Sad to hear the vulv got stolen... When a door closes a window opens...now you understand the total bliss of a pickup... Just some free advice...don't say "truck" you see a "truck" really refers to a semi truck... this is a "pickup" or "rig" (rig can be used to describe any type of transportation)... I would just hate for you to get made fun of the next time you're out on the north 40 buckin bails of hay with the crew...
